In the very first episode of Simply Teach, Elmer and I talk about his four years of teaching in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and a 2nd/3rd grade split class. We share stories about struggling with difficult students and teaching what we have to teach even if that means going back to the very basics of how to count and write their name. We talk about teacher burn out and how Elmer makes a daily choice to be positive each morning. We wrap up talking about some of our favorite Netflix shows and how going out to eat at the end of a long week is just what every teacher needs!
